Extra Details:: This gene encodes a protease that removes the N-terminal peroxisomal targeting signal (PTS2) from proteins produced in the cytosol, thereby facilitating their import into the peroxisome. The encoded protein is also capable of removing the C-terminal peroxisomal targeting signal (PTS1) from proteins in the peroxisomal matrix. The full-length protein undergoes self-cleavage to produce shorter, potentially inactive, peptides. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
