- LHX5 plays an essential role in the regulation of neuronal differentiation and migration during development of the central nervous system. This gene encodes a protein belonging to a large protein family, members of which carry the LIM domain, a unique cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein may function as a transcriptional regulator and be involved in the control of differentiation and development of the forebrain. In mice, this protein is essential for the regulation of precursor cell proliferation and the control of neuronal differentiation and migration during hippocampal development. This protein is involved in learning and motor functions in adult mice. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
