- HAO2 is one of three related proteins that have 2-hydroxyacid oxidase activity yet differ in amino acid sequence, tissue expression and substrate preference. Subcellular location of the protein is the peroxisome. Specifically, the protein is expressed predominantly in liver and kidney and has the highest activity toward the substrate 2-hydroxypalmitate. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same isoform have been described.This gene is one of three related genes that have 2-hydroxyacid oxidase activity yet differ in encoded protein amino acid sequence, tissue expression and substrate preference. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
