- COMP is a 757 amino acid matrix glycoprotein bearing four EGF-like domains, a single TSP C-terminal domain and eight TSP type-3 repeats (Uniprot P49747). Defects in the COMP gene can lead to the presence of pseudoachondroplasia or multiple epiphyseal dysplasia (Posey et al. 2014). This clone recognizes an epitope located in the central portion of the molecule and has been described as suitable for use in western blotting (Gagarina et al. 2008) and immunohistochemistry (Grigoriadis et al. 2006). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:200-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin sections Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: NS1myeloma cells with spleen cells from Wistar rats. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
