- Tauro-β-muricholic acid (TβMCA) is a competitive and reversible antagonist of the farnesoid X receptor (FXR; IC50 = 40uM) and a taurine-conjugated form of the murine-specific primary bile acid β-muricholic acid (Item No. 20287).1 TβMCA accumulates in germ-free mice under normal conditions but is reduced after colonization with feces from a human donor.1,2 TβMCA is increased in the intestines of mice resistant to high-fat diet-induced obesity, fatty liver, and diabetes.3 Synonyms: 2-[[(3α,5β,6β,7β)-3,6,7-trihydroxy-24-oxocholan-24-yl]amino]-ethanesulfonic acid, monosodium salt; Tauro-β-muricholate; TβMCA CAS No: 145022-92-0 Free acid: 130325-58-5 Molecular Formula: C₂₆H₄₄NNaO₇S Molecular Weight: 537.68 Purity: ≥95% (HPLC) Appearance: Crystalline solid Solubility: Soluble in DMSO and DMF at 10mg/ml and Ethanol at 1mg/ml. Storage and Stability: May be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
