Extra Details:: Mcl-1 is an anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins. It has a pro-survival role in the early stages of apoptosis, and is thought to prevent cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Mcl-1 is also essential for embryogenesis and for the development and maintenance of B and T lymphocytes. Mcl-1 is a highly regulated protein induced by a wide range of survival signals, including cytokines and growth factors. During apoptosis, Mcl-1 is rapidly degraded by the proteasome pathway, and is also readily cleaved by caspases to produce a potent cell death promoting protein. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:40,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
