Extra Details:: Different from other organisms, the signal peptide of ruminant CD18, the beta subunit, is not cleaved and remains intact on the mature CD18 molecule. This helps Pasteurella haemolytica to bind to ruminant leukocytes and cause acute inflammation. Holstein cattle harbor a mutation in CD18 causing bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency (BLAD) syndrome. This causes decreased expression of beta 2 integrins and lowered susceptibility to cytolysis in Pasteurella infections. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Neat 1:10 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
