- XPA, also known as DNA repair protein complementing XP-A cells, belong to the XPA family. This protein is involved in DNA excision repair. It Initiates repair by binding to damaged sites with various affinities, depending on the photoproduct and the transcriptional state of the region. Defects in XPA are a cause of xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group A (XP-A), which is a rare human autosomal recessive disease characterized by solar sensitivity, high predisposition for developing cancers on areas exposed to sunlight and, in some cases, neurological abnormalities. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
