- Extra Details:
- Ak2, also known as Adenylate kinase 2 mitochondrial isoform a, is a ubiquitous monomeric enzyme involved energy metabolism of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Three isozymes (Ak1, Ak2 and Ak3) are characterized in vertebrates. Expression of these isozymes is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. Ak2 is localized in the mitochondrial intermembrane space and may pay a role in apoptosis. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-239 of mouse Ak2, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~29kD (263aa), Confirmed by MALDI-TOF Endotoxin: <1EU/1ug (determined by LAL method) Amino Acid Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMAPNVL ASEPEIPKGI RAVLLGPPGA GKGTQAPKLA ENFCVCHLAT GDMLRAMVAS GSELGKKLKA TMDAGKLVSD EMVVELIEKN LETPSCKNGF LLDGFPRTVR QAEMLDDLME KRKEKLDSVI EFSIQDSLLI RRITGRLIHP KSGRSYHEEF NPPKEPMKDD ITGEPLIRRS DDNEKALKTR LEAYHTQTTP LVEYYRKRGI HCAIDASQTP DIVFASILAA FSKATCKDLV MFI Specific Activity: >40units/mg. One unit will convert 2umoles of ADP to ATP + AMP/minute at pH 7.5 at 37°C. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
