Extra Details:: Epithelial cellular adhesion molecule (EpCAM), is also identified as epithelial specific antigen (ESA) and the 40kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein EGP40. EpCAM is expressed on the baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia and a vast majority of carcinomas. EpCAM antibody is also useful in distinguishing serous carcinomas of the ovary from mesothelioma. Has been used to distinguish adenocarcinoma from pleural mesothelioma and hepatocellular carcinoma. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1-2ug/10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed paraffin sections): 0.5-1ug/ml for 30 min at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
