- ASS1 (argininosuccinate synthase or citrulline-aspartate ligase) belongs to the argininosuccinate synthase family. ASS1 is a urea cycle enzyme that is essential in the conversion of nitrogen from ammonia and aspartate to urea. A deficiency of ASS1 causes citrullinemia (CTLN1), an autosomal recessive disease which is characterized by severe vomiting spells and mental retardation. Cells deficient in ASS1 must absorb the arginine they need for growth from circulating blood. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
