Extra Details:: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARgamma) is a member of the ligand-activated nuclear receptor superfamily and functions as a transcriptional activator (1). PPARgama is preferentially expressed in adipocytes as well as in vascular smooth muscle cells and macrophage (2). Besides its role in mediating adipogenesis and lipid metabolism (2), PPARgamma also modulates insulin sensitivity, cell proliferation and inflammation (3). PPARgamma transcriptional activity is inhibited by MAP kinase phosphorylation of PPARgamma at Ser84 (4,5). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:800 Immunofluorescence (IF-IC): 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
