- Immunogen:
- Synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminal of human AQP11 (aa35-70, ARQQLHRPVAHAFVLEFLATFQLCCCTHELQLLSEQ), different from the related mouse sequence by 2aa, and from the related rat sequence by 3aa.
- Format:
- Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile ddH2O.
- Extra Details:
- AQP11 has a unique asparagine-proline-alanine (NPA) box distinct from those of other AQPs, suggesting a different pore structure and function. Using Northern blot analysis, they detected highest expression of mouse Aqp11 in testis, followed by liver and kidney. Expression was much weaker in heart, brain, and muscle. Western blot analysis of mouse kidney membrane fractions detected Aqp11 at an apparent molecular mass of 26kD, lower than the calculated molecular mass of 30kD. Immunohistochemical analysis localized Aqp11 to mouse renal proximal tubule cells, where it showed a perinuclear distribution. Fluorescence-tagged Aqp11 localized with an endoplasmic reticulum marker. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
