Extra Details:
Deoxycytidine kinase (DCK) is responsible for the phosphorylation of several deoxyribonucleosides and their analogs. Deficiency of this enzyme activity is associated with resistance to antiviral and anticancer chemotherapeutic agents, whereas increased enzyme activity is associated with increased activation of these compounds to cytotoxic nucleoside triphosphate derivatives. It is clinically important because of its relationship to drug resistance and sensitivity. It is the rate limiting enzyme in the activation of many important anticancer and retroviral drugs and its activity is often decreased in cells that are resistant to cytosine arabinoside. Human deoxyribonucleoside kinases are required for the pharmacologic activity of several clinically important anticancer and antiviral nucleoside analogs. Applications:  Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Immunocytochemistry:  5-20ug/ml Western Blot: 0.2-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
