Extra Details:: IL4 is a pleiotropic cytokine that regulates diverse T and B cell responses including cell proliferation, survival and gene expression. Produced by mast cells, T cells and bone marrow stromal cells, IL4 regulates the differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells into helper Th2 cells, characterized by their cytokine-secretion profile that includes secretion of IL4, IL5, IL6, IL10, and IL13, which favor a humoral immune response. Another dominant function of IL4 is the regulation of immunoglobulin class switching to the IgG1 and IgE isotypes. Excessive IL4 production by Th2 cells has been associated with elevated IgE production and allergy. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Inhibition and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Inhibition: 6-8.5ug/ml Western Blot: 0.2-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
