Extra Details:: Desmoplakin is a protein associated with desmosomes. Desmoplakin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DSP gene. Desmosomes are intercellular junctions that tightly link adjacent cells. Desmoplakin is an obligate component of functional desmosomes that anchors intermediate filaments to desmosomal plaques. The N-terminus of desmoplakin is required for localization to the desmosome and interacts with the N-terminal region of plakophilin 1 and plakoglobin. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Tested cultured cell lines: Several human carcinoma cell lines: A-431, BMGE, MDCK Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
