- Extra Details:
- CD8 is a 32-34kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD8alpha forms either a homodimer (2 alpha chains) or a heterodimer with CD8beta and is expressed on the surface of cytotoxic T cells, NK cells, cortical thymocytes, and dendritic cells. CD8 functions as a co-receptor for T cell receptor and specifically binds to class I MHC for antigen recognition and T cell activation. The OKT8 antibody specifically binds the alpha chain of human CD8. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5ul labels 10e6 cells in a 100ul staining volume or 100ul of whole blood Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Excitation Laser: Blue (488nm) Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
