Extra Details:: This antibody is directed against the transferrin receptor (CD71), the 95kD, type II membrane glycoprotein. CD71 is expressed on activated, but not resting lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, most dividing cells and on brain endothelium, and is upregulated during response to antigens and/or mitogens. The transferrin receptor binds Fe(Apo)-transferrin and via endocytosis and delivers iron required by the growing cell for cellular metabolism. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤0.5ug/1x10e6 cells in 100ul of staining volume Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
