Extra Details:: CD4 is a 55kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a specific marker for T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Through interaction of MHC-II, CD4 facilitates cell-cell interaction, thymic differentiation, and activation of downstream signaling cascades. HIV infection of T-cells is instigated through binding of HIV to CD4. The OKT4 antibody binds to the D3 domain of CD4 and does not inhibit HIV binding. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤0.5ug/1x10e6 cells in 100ul of staining volume or 100ul whole blood followed by a secondary florescent conjugated anti-mouse antibody Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
