Extra Details:: Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, also known as BDNF, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the BDNF gene. BDNF is a member of the neurotrophin family of growth factors, which are related to the canonical Nerve Growth Factor. Neurotrophic factors are found in the brain and the periphery. The effects of BDNF on motor neurons might be useful in treating patients with motor neuropathies and ALS (1-3). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
