- Extra Details:
- RBM3 is a member of the glycine-rich RNA-binding protein family and encodes a protein with one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain. Expression of this gene is induced by cold shock and low oxygen tension. A pseudogene exists on chromosome 1. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. The gene gave rise to alternatively spliced transcripts in a variety of human tissues. The longest open reading frame encodes a 157aa protein with a predicted molecular weight of 17kD. Its putative RNA-binding domain most closely resembles that of 2 previously characterized human RNA-binding proteins, YRRM, the gene which has been implicated in azoospermia, and a glycoprotein identified as an autoantigen. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
