Extra Details:
Metal regulatory transcription factor 1 is a transcription factor that induces expression of metallothioneins and other genes involved in metal homeostasis in response to heavy metals such as cadmium, zinc, copper, and silver. The protein is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein that accumulates in the nucleus upon heavy metal exposure and binds to promoters containing a metal-responsive element (MRE). The human protein has 753 aa with 93% aa sequence identity to the mouse protein and has an extension of 78 aa at the C terminus without counterpart in the mouse. In the 2 species the factor has the same overall structure, including 6 zinc fingers in the DNA binding domain. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control Included: 364230A: MTF1, Positive Control Suppled as a recombinant protein in loading buffer (100mM Tris, pH 6.8, 1% SDS, 150mM sodium chloride, 50mM DTT, 0.02% BPB, 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol).
