- Ladinin-1 may be an anchoring filament that is a component of basement membranes. It may contribute to the stability of the association of the epithelial layers with the underlying mesenchyme.Ladinin is an anchoring filament protein of basement membrane at the dermal-epidermal junction. Human ladinin is an autoantigen associated with linear IgA disease. Motoki et al. (1997) cloned mouse ladinin-1, which encodes a 528aa polypeptide that contains a secretory signal sequence, several putative glycosylation sites, and 6 SEK motifs which may participate in macromolecular interactions. Northern blotting revealed that the approximately 2.5-kb mouse Lad1 mRNA is expressed in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts. It is also expressed in a variety of mouse tissues. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
