- High mobility group (HMG) proteins are nonhistone chromosomal proteins. Seroussi et al. (1999) characterized a 190.3-kb contig in human 22q13.1 and identified the HMG2L1 and TOM1 genes, as well as the previously identified HMOX1 and MCM5 genes. (A gene designated THC211630 was later determined to be the same as HMG2L1. The order of these genes is cen--HMG2L1--TOM1--HMOX1--MCM5--tel. All are oriented in a 5-prime to 3-prime direction from centromere to telomere. The HMG2L1 gene contains 6 exons. The predicted HMG2L1 protein has an HMG box that shares 39%aa sequence identity with the HMG box of bovine HMG2. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
