- EPN1 is an endocytic accessory protein that interacts with EPS15, the alpha subunit of the clathrin adaptor AP2 (AP2A1), and clathrin, as well as with other accessory proteins for the endocytosis of clathrin-coated vesicles The deduced 576aa protein contains several conserved asp-pro-trp (DPW) repeats in its central region, a Cdc2 phosphorylation site, and 3 arg-pro-phe (NPF) repeats in its C-terminal region. Northern blot analysis detected a 2.6-kb transcript in all rat tissues tested, and Western blot analysis confirmed ubiquitous expression. Immunofluorescence localization using rat brain frozen sections revealed colocalization of Epn1 with Eps15, synaptophysin, and clathrin in nerve terminals. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
