- Extra Details:
- Three different forms of human pancreatic procarboxypeptidase A have been isolated. The A1 and A2 forms are monomeric proteins with different biochemical properties. The A2 form of pancreatic procarboxypeptidase acts on aromatic C-terminal residues. The full-length cDNA encodes a deduced 417aa protein, which includes a short leader sequence and a 94aa long activation segment. The human CPA2 protein shares 89% similarity with the rat CPA2 protein and 64% similarity with human CPA1. The A2 form of pancreatic procarboxypeptidase acts on aromatic C-terminal residues, in contrast to the A1 form, which shows a preference for the aliphatic C-terminal residues of peptide substrates. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
