- Extra Details:
- CNTN6 is a neural adhesion molecule of the contactin subgroup of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The deduced 1,028aa GPI-anchored membrane protein is 43% and 44% identical to F3 (CNTN1) and TAG1 (CNTN2), respectively, and 90% identical to the rat protein. It contains hydrophobic segments in the N and C termini representing, respectively, a potential signal peptide and a GPI-anchoring signal. The N terminus also possesses 6 repeats typical of a C2-type Ig-like domain, while the C terminus has 4 repeated motifs homologous to type III fibronectin repeats. Northern blot analysis revealed ubiquitous expression in brain regions of a 3.7-kb transcript, with highest levels in cerebellum, followed by thalamus and subthalamic nucleus, and lower levels in corpus callosum, caudate nucleus, and spinal cord. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
