- Carbonyl reductase 3 catalyzes the reduction of a large number of biologically and pharmacologically active carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols. The enzyme is classified as a monomeric NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase. CBR3 contains three exons spanning 11.2 kilobases and is closely linked to another carbonyl reductase gene-CBR1. Carbonyl reductase (CBR) catalyzes the reduction of a large number of biologically and pharmacologically active carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols. By analyzing sequences from the 21q22.2 chromosomal region, Watanabe et al. (1998) identified genomic clones corresponding to CBR1 and to CBR3, a novel carbonyl reductase gene. The deduced 277aa CBR3 protein is 84% similar to the CBR1 protein. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
