Extra Details:
Calcineurin plays an important role in the T-cell receptor-mediated signal transduction pathway. Calcineurin-binding protein cabin-1 binds specifically to the activated form of calcineurin and inhibits calcineurin-mediated signal transduction. The encoded protein is found in the nucleus and contains a leucine zipper domain as well as several PEST motifs, sequences which confer targeted degradation to those proteins which contain them. At least four alternatively spliced transcripts have been found for this gene, but the full-length nature of most of them has not been determined. May be required for replication-independent chromatin assembly. May serve as a negative regulator of T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling via inhibition of calcineurin. Inhibition of activated calcineurin is dependent on both PKC and calcium signals. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry:: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
