- The deduced protein contains 379aa. The extracellular N-terminal contains a TNF family cysteine-rich region, followed by a transmembrane domain, a C-terminal collagen-like sequence of 14 Gly-X-Y repeats, and a globular domain. Northern blot analysis detected prominent expression in heart and lower expression in placenta, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, prostate and ovary. Little to no expression was detected in other tissues examined. In transfected HEK293 and COS cells, epitope-tagged GIP was expressed in vesicular structures surrounding the nucleus and near the cell surface. Western blot analysis detected epitope-tagged GIP at about 40kD and 130kD, suggesting GIP can form trimers. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
