- Brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitors are G-protein coupled receptors belonging to the class B secretin subfamily. Might be involved in angiogenesis inhibition and suppression of glioblastoma.Strongly expressed in brain. Also detected in heart. Reduced expression is observed in some glioblastoma cell lines. BAI1, a p53-target gene, encodes brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor, a seven-span transmembrane protein and is thought to be a member of the secretin receptor family. Brain-specific angiogenesis proteins BAI2 and BAI3 are similar to BAI1 in structure, have similar tissue specificities and may also play a role in angiogenesis. C1ql proteins are secreted signaling molecules that bind to BAI3 and act, at least in part, to regulate synapse formation and/or maintenance. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-3ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-30ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 5-30ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
