- Adenylate cyclase type 7 is a membrane-bound adenylate cyclase that catalyses the formation of cyclic AMP from ATP and is inhibitable by calcium. The product of this gene is a member of the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase enzyme family that is characterized by the presence of twelve membrane-spanning domains in its sequences. The deduced protein contains 12 membrane-spanning domains, a characteristic of the adenylyl cyclase enzyme family. RNase protection assays indicated that ADCY7 is the major form of adenylyl cyclase in human platelets. Northern blot analysis detected a 6.7-kb transcript that was abundant in liver. Of brain areas studied, the transcript was most abundant in the caudate and cerebellum and present at a slightly lower level in hippocampus. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
