Extra Details:: Recombinant monoclonal antibody to CD4 with variable regions (i.e., specificity) from the hybridoma MT310. Manufactured using a proprietary recombinant platform technology. This antibody binds to the extracellular domain D1 of CD4 – the same site as the HIV-1 gp120-binding site. CD4 can inhibit gp120 binding to CD4, which blocks HIV infectivity of CD4+ T lymphocytes, as well as the binding of MHCII, which results in the block of T-cell activation, possibly leading to the induction of anergy. Antibody binding to CD4 additionally causes the induction of GM-CSF, TNF-a (only after 20h) and IL-10. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
