- The vanin family is a novel group of ectoenzymes that function in tissue repair and plays a role in oxidative-stress response. As both secreted and membrane proteins, the vanin family members have been implicated as therapeutic targets in inflammatory disease. VNN3 (vascular non-inflammatory molecule 3), also known as Vanin3, is a 501aa GPI-anchored amidohydrolase that is widely expressed and is found at highest levels in blood and liver. Induced by Th17/Th1 type cytokines, VNN3 converts pantetheine into pantothenic acid. Containing one CN hydrolase domain, VNN3 is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 6q23.2. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Brain Tissue Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
