Extra Details:: Alpha-Synuclein (SNCA) is a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease (1,2). It is a cytoplasmic protein that is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system (2). SNCA reduces neuronal responsiveness to various apoptotic stimuli, leading to the decreased caspase-3 activation. SNCA may be involved in the regulation of dopamine release and transport and induces fibrillization of microtubule-associated protein tau (3). Defects in SNCA are associated with familial Parkinson’s disease (4,5). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence: 20ug/ml Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse Cerebellum Tissue Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
