Extra Details:: The Apolipoprotein B mRNA-editing, enzyme-catalytic, polypeptide-like (APOBEC) 3 is a multi-isoform member of the cytosine deaminase family of enzymes that act on monomeric nucleoside and nucleotide substrates (1). Similar to TRIM5? which targets incoming retroviral capsids, APOBEC3 plays a major role in cellular defense against retroviral infection (2,3). APOBEC3B has also been shown to be upregulated in several cancers; it is thought that APOBEC3B-catalyzed genomic uracil lesions are responsible for a large proportion of mutations in multiple distinct cancers (4). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 20ug/ml Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat Small Intestine Tissue Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
