Extra Details:
SLC5A6 is a 635aa protein that belongs to the sodium-coupled glucose transporter family. SMVT contains 12 putative transmembrane domains with the N and C termini both facing towards the cytoplasm. Its function is to transport the essential vitamins pantothenate, biotin, and the metabolite lipoate into cells of various human tissues. Biotin, also known as vitamin B6, is important in synthesizing fatty acids gluconeogenesis, and metabolizing leucine, while pantothenate, or vitamin B5, is critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Lipoate is involved in oxidative metabolism. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
