- Excitatory amino-acid transporter 4 (EAAT4) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC1A6 gene.It is a member of the high-affinity glutamate and neutral amino acid-transporter family. It transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate predominantly in the cerebellar cortex. Genetic polymorphism in the SLC1A6 gene is suggested to be refered to glutamatergic dysfunction in schizophrenia pathogenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:500-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
