- Extra Details:
- An antiphosphotyrosine antibody was used to identify proteins that are phosphorylated in Rous sarcoma virus-transformed chick embryo fibroblasts, and a 76-kD protein was obtained that localizes to focal adhesions at the ends of actin-containing stress fibers in nontransformed cells. This protein was purified from chicken gizzard smooth muscle, and was named Pxn (Paxillin) ('paxillus' means 'small stake' or 'peg' in Latin) as a protein tethered to the membrane at focal adhesions. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
