- Probable G-protein coupled receptor 171 (GPR171) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GPR171 gene. One of the most abundant peptides in brain, LENSSPQAPARRLLPP (named BigLEN), which can activate GPR171. Additional studies showed that the BigLEN–GPR171 system plays an important role in regulating feeding and metabolism in mice. Thus, GPR171 is a potential target for developing antiobesity drugs. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
