- This gene is a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family. It is structurally related to the corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) gene and the encoded product is an endogenous ligand for CRF type 2 receptors. In the brain it may be responsible for the effects of stress on appetite. In spite of the gene family name similarity, the product of this gene has no sequence similarity to urotensin II. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Direct ELISA: 1:3200 Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Sequence: Phe-Thr-Leu-Ser-Leu-Asp-Val-Pro-Thr-Asn-Ile-Met-Asn-Ile-Leu-Phe-Asn-Ile-Asp-Lys-Ala-Lys-Asn- Leu-Arg-Ala-Lys-Ala-Ala-Ala-Asn-Ala-Gln-Leu-Met-Ala-Gln-Ile-NH2. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
