Extra Details:: Presenilin is an integral membrane protein ubiquitously expressed in the brain; it is mainly expressed in neurons where it is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in the presenilin proteins (PSEN1; PSEN2) are linked to an inherited form of Alzheimer's disease in some patients by increasing the production of the longer form of amyloid-beta. Presenilins are thought to affect gamma-secretase by regulating amyloid precursor protein (APP) processing and cleavage of the Notch receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence: 1:1300 ELISA: 1:200 Western Blot: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
