Extra Details:: Dalbavancin is a drug that belongs to the class of antimicrobial agents. It is indicated for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections due to susceptible gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium. Dalbavancin binds to the penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cell walls by competitive inhibition, which prevents formation of antibiotic-inhibitor complexes with enzymes required for cell wall synthesis. This binding prevents protein synthesis and cell division, leading to cell death. Dalbavancin has been shown to be effective against human pathogens, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsie.
