- Thymosin β4 is a naturally occuring, potent regulator of actin polymerization present in human platelets at a concentration of 200 - 500 μM. Sequesters G-actin monomers in a 1:1 ratio (Kd = 0.7-1uM) and allows rapid filament polymerization in the presence of profilin. Implicated in wound healing, induction of MMPs, chemotaxis, angiogenesis, inflammatory processes and tumor progression. Synonyms: TB-500; Timbetasin; Thymosin beta4 (human, bovine, horse, rat) Sequence: Ac-Ser-Asp-Lys-Pro-Asp-Met-Ala-Glu-Ile-Glu-Lys-Phe-Asp-Lys-Ser-Lys-Leu-Lys-Lys-Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln-Glu-Lys-Asn-Pro-Leu-Pro-Ser-Lys-Glu-Thr-Ile-Glu-Gln-Glu-Lys-Gln-Ala-Gly-Glu-Ser TFA Salt CAS No: 77591-33-4 Molecular Formula: C₂₁₂H₃₅₀N₅₆O₇₈S Molecular Weight: 4963.49 Appearance: White to off-white powder Purity: ≥95% (Typically ≥98%) Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions. For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. TFA Content: Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using HPLC. The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility. The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder. Storage and Stability: Store at -20°C under inert atmosphere. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
