Extra Details:: CD44, also known as H-CAM, is a single-pass type 1 membrane of ~90kD expressed by most leucocytes and epithelial cells. CD44 expression is markedly increased upon cell activation (Alldinger et al. 2000). CD44 is involved in cell-cell, cell adhesion and cell migration and is the principal cellular receptor for hyaluronate via it's LINK domain, additionally CD44 also interacts with other ligands including collagens and metalloproteinases. Studies have demonstrated that altered CD44 expression is detected in a many forms of invasive and metasic cancers, CD44 expression has been observed on canine mammary and melanocytic tumors (Serra et al. 2004). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:20 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
