Extra Details:: D-dimers are the principle degradation products of cross-linked fibrin, released into the bloodstream following the digestion of fibrin clots (thrombus) by the enzyme plasmin, and thus measurement of the level of D-dimer in plasma, can be used as an indication of thrombotic disorders. Conditions in which levels of D-dimer are elevated include deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous thromboembolism (VTE), cardiovascular disease and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), a possible acute condition arising from surgical operations, septic shock and liver disease. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
