- Extra Details:
- SFTPD, as known as Surfactant pulmonary-associated protein D, is a member of the collectin family of C-type lectins that is synthesized in many tissues including respiratory epithelial cells in the lung, and contains one C-type lectin domain and one collagen-like domain. It is humoral molecules of the innate immune system, and is considered a functional candidate in chronic periodontitis. Besides it is involved in the development of acute and chronic inflammation of the lung. Several human lung diseases are characterized by decreased levels of bronchoalveolar SFTPD. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa224-375 from human SFTPD, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~18.9kD (175aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
