Extra Details:
PLSCR3 may mediate accelerated ATP-independent bidirectional transbilayer migration of phospholipids upon binding calcium ions that results in a loss of phospholipid asymmetry in the plasma membrane. This protein may play a central role in the initiation of fibrin clot formation, in the activation of mast cells and in the recognition of apoptotic and injured cells by the reticuloendothelial system. It seems to play a role in apoptosis, through translocation of cardiolipin from the inner to the outer mitochondrial membrane which promotes BID recruitment and enhances tBid-induced mitochondrial damages. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-265 from human PLSCR3, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~30.9kD (288aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
