- OTOR, also known as Otoraplin, is a member of the melanoma-inhibiting activity gene family. The protein is secreted via the Golgi apparatus and may function in cartilage development and maintenance. A frequent polymorphism in the translation start codon of this gene can abolish translation and may be associated with forms of deafness. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa26-128 from human OTOR, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~14.3kD (128aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
