- Extra Details:
- CpG methylation is an epigenetic modification that is important for embryonic development, imprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. DNMT3L is a nuclear protein with similarity to DNA methyltransferases, but is not thought to function as a DNA methyltransferase as it does not contain the amino acid residues necessary for methyltransferase activity. However, it does stimulate de novo methylation by DNA cytosine methyltransferase 3 alpha and is thought to be required for the establishment of maternal genomic imprints. It also mediates transcriptional repression through interaction with histone deacetylase 1. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-387 from human DNMT3L, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~46.2kD (411aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
